About the client:
NBT is the authorized distributor of both Lexus and Toyota in Brunei and they have been around since 1957. Inchcape PLC acquired NBT to distribute Toyota vehicles exclusively in 1967 and Lexus was added to their fleet in 1993.
NBT awarded Mint as their digital partner in March 2019 to help develop and maintain their website, in their efforts to increase their presence online. Car launches are normally loud and grand, attended by exclusively invited guests who’ll get a first-hand experience of the car. However last year, Mint had the pleasure of working on a very out-of-the-box car launch by Toyota.
About the project:
The 2019 Toyota Altis is the first car in Brunei to be launched digitally! Mint developed a microsite with holographic concept and custom features that enable potential customers to interact on the website.
All hands were on deck for this project. The team developed an interactive game where customers can play daily trivia on the site. They also developed a countdown timer to the launch date. To further enhance the interactivity of the site, customers are also able to book the car online. Photography was also included in the work scope where these photos were used for a virtual tour of the car and to build a 3D model of the car as well.
The microsite went live 12 days before the launch on 1st December 2019 and ran for a month. The microsite acted as a teaser to increase the curiosity as well as create excitement for Toyota enthusiasts, and at the same time to enlighten the public on how the Toyota Corolla has evolved for 12 generations since the 1950’s up until now.
